    Studio Location

New work and limited editions prints are all available direct from my studio located in the Cotton Mill Building at 122 Riverside Drive. The building is one of many converted to artists' studios in the River Arts District just outside Asheville, North Carolina. A good time to visit is during the River District Artists Studio Strolls in early June and again in November (www.riverdistrictartists.com).  Call for an appointment if you wish to visit, since we may be in the field painting or teaching.

For more locations to see my work, please check the Exhibitions and Gallery Schedule posted here. Look often for new updates or email  us and if you wish to be added to our mailing list. The studio phone number is 828-225-5000. We welcome visitors, but studio hours are by appointment. Please call us to arrange a visit.

We have chosen to make affordable reproductions of my work available as limited edition Giclee prints on canvas of only a few of my originals.

These are extra-ordinary prints we produce one at a time in collaboration with our printmaker.

Interested in Learning to Paint? You can find our schedule for studio classes, painting in the field, and off-site workshops.

Painting is a lot about memory. Whistler used to take students out, turn his back to a view after studying it a short time, and paint from memory. There's a place where the paint and canvas and brush take over, takes on a life of its own, irregardless and I have to follow. Landscape is a not so much a place as a state of mind evoked in paint. I want my work to evoke something in the viewer...a memory, a story, a fantasy...that's the conversation...but also be a WORK of art, something made well with respect for what these very humble materials can bring forth.
